Dear New Life SDA Church Family:
It is with great joy that we inform you that by God’s grace everything is in readiness for us to resume services this Sabbath May 1st, 2021. It is said that we are only as great as the number of doors we open. The suspension of our church services was challenging and slammed a door closed in our faces. But through the grace of God and much prayer, our church doors will open again. In times like these it is comforting to know that “God is our refuge and our strength and a very present help in time of trouble” and that He “will be with us always; even unto the end of the world.”
We have left no stone unturned nor count any project too expensive to ensure that when we return, our church will be a safe place where we can continue telling our story and listen to God’s story. As is recommended by our conference, the Sabbath School and AY services will continue their broadcasts via Zoom.
Temperature check and COVID-19 screening will begin at 11:00 AM on Sabbath at the door. Preferably, if you plan to attend, we ask that you complete the questionnaire in the link starting Wednesday. The divine worship hour will begin at 11:30 AM Sabbath morning and we will be streaming the sermon, “The Return of the Exiles,” on our YouTube as well as on Facebook Live channels.
We are strongly recommending that our senior members above 60 years old continue following the services online; even if fully vaccinated. If you have plans to attend in person, please indicate through the COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire that is posted online. Otherwise, you have the option of being in the service on YouTube and Facebook Live.
We are grateful that most of our members and support force are giving online. Those who were mailing their tithes and offering can continue doing so. Those returning cash can now do so in person. May we “never forget that we are placed on trial in this world, to determine our fitness for the future life. None can enter heaven whose characters are defiled by the foul blot of selfishness. Therefore, God tests us here, by committing to us temporal possessions (time, talent, treasures, and health) that our use of these may show whether we can be entrusted with eternal riches.”
As the COVID-19 virus continue to cast dark clouds of gloom and doom all around us, and our immediate future seem uncertain we are reminded that, “We have no reason to fear for the future, except we forget how marvelously God has led us in the past.” As the poet T. S. Eliot wrote, the only way God can show us that He is in control is to put us in situations that we cannot control.
As it was said of the Patriarch Joseph, it could be said that this virus that was meant for evil, has brought us manifold blessings; among which is family worship for Sabbath reception Friday evenings and celebrating the communion services with our families.
Until we meet on Sabbath, May 1st , 2021, remember, the work continues, our cause endures, the dream still lives and the Blessed Hope of the soon return of our Redeemer must never die.
Yours sincerely for the New Life SDA church, I remain:
